Some people really need attention. Sometimes, individuals do things that nobody cares about, like shaving their head. Appearing in reality shows on MTV is an example of how some individuals try to look pathetic. Then you will find the harmful attention getters. These individuals harmed themselves and others throughout the process. Bethany Storro was one of the harmful ones. The acid face assault story she provided the press was a scam, and she forever disfigured herself.
Attacking Bethany Storro
Some time ago, a story went out over the news wires of a young woman, one Bethany Storro of Vancouver, Wash., who had been attacked and disfigured. Supposedly, somebody just came up and threw acid on her face. The old saw of a young woman disfigured by acid seemed to have come true, and people really believed it. CNN reports that Bethany Storro was released from the hospital on September 5 after entering on August 30. She said she got acid thrown in her face after a young African-American woman asked her if she wanted anything to drink.
Hoax coming from acid attack
The story seemed so perfect, though an awful cliché. It also turned out to be false. Time reports that police began investigating things as she was getting close to being released. They decided things weren’t adding up. The Bethany Storro acid burns were in a pattern that better fit being carefully applied, rather than thrown. According to Sky News, the acid used was of comparable corrosive quality to sulfuric or hydrochloric acid. She admitted the whole thing was a hoax after many asked about the inconsistencies. The meat dress and balloon boy compare to this. They were all just stunts happening.
Paying for mistakes
Bethany Storro could have to live with scars for a long time. She could have it the rest of her life. However, she also is going to have to live with the legal consequences of a likely conviction of filing a false police report. She must also give back all the donations for her hospital bills, and pay the hospital back herself.
